Volunteer Fair 2010

Thursday 28th October, 11-2

The Octagon

After the initial excitement of the Freshers' experience may have died down, a second wave of activity will be taking place in The Octagon on Thursday 28th October.

Provide Volunteering's second volunteer fair will be a great chance to get to know organisations and what is available to get involved with in the local community and even national campaigns and charities.

The fair will only be running for a few hours, and takes place in the middle of the London Universities' Volunteering Fortnight, which includes Halloween and Guy Fawkes Night, and opportunities to volunteer will be numerous throughout the two weeks as CADs are already being confirmed across London.

In addition, it's a great chance to start taking on some long-term placements throughout term-time which have proven to work fantastically alongside degrees in the past, as well as making contacts for internships over next summer (it's never too soon to think about the future).

Organisations confirmed so far include:

MacMillan Cancer Support
The Royal Geographical Society
The Anthony Nolan Trust
Centre of the Cell (Barts and the London's award winning educational programme)
FoodCycle
Royal National Institute of Blind People
Bangladesh Football Association (UK)
